The standard PHP library (SPL) exposes some of the PHP internal functionalities allowing the developer to develop PHP script that works in a special different way. Among the special possibilities SPL enables we can find the the possibility to access objects as if they were arrays and the possibility to iterate objects using an iterator.
Implementing the ArrayAccess interface in our class will enable us to instantiate our class and use the new object as if it was an array.
interface ArrayAccess
{
function offsetGet($offset);
function offsetUnset($offset);
function offsetExists($offset);
}
The following video clip presents a code sample and explains it.
Implementing the Iterator interface in our class will enable us to instantiate our class and get an iterator in order to iterate it as if it was an array.
interface Iterator
{
function current();
function next();
function rewind();
function key();
function valid();
function seek($key);
}
