The Android Traceview Utility INFO

The android traceview utility allows us to identify bottleneck in our code. In order to use this utility we first need to set up an AVD that uses SD card, create an image file that will be used by that specific AVD and call the Debug.startMethodTracing() and Debug.stopMethodTracing() from our code in order to create a log file on the SD card we can later pull back to our desktop and analyze using the traceview utility. The following eight video clips overview the steps you should follow in order to use this utility.

The Debug Tracing Methods

Creating SD Card Image File

Creating AVD with SD Card

Running AVD with SD Card Image File
