The MongoDB 2025 Conference in Tel-Aviv

MongoDB 2025 Tel-Aviv took place in Hilton Tel-Aviv. It was a great learning experience.

It was an exciting day at MongoDB 2025 Tel Aviv! I had the chance to reconnect with some of my students from HIT, which is always a special experience. At the same time, I found that I missed meeting my friend Roma from my neighborhood. We later realized we had both been there. If only we had known in advance, it could have been awesome! Overall, the event set a vibrant tone, marked by knowledge sharing, networking, and inspiration.

The Opening Talks

The opening talks provided a clear picture of how big and mature MongoDB has become. It was impossible not to reflect on my first experience working with MongoDB more than 15 years ago when delivering software development courses at the Technion, and when delivering various talks about MongoDB for more than a decade, such as the MongoDB Jump Start lecture I delivered at HIT. Seeing the platform evolve from those early days into today’s robust ecosystem was truly inspiring.

MongoDB Opening Talk

The Workshops

I attended two outstanding workshops. The first, “Building Scalable Customer-Facing GenAI Applications in Hybrid Environments” by Nir Sela, was exceptionally clear and practical. The second, “Data Designs for High Performance” by Adir Sharabani, was equally well structured and delivered. Listening to Nir’s talk gave me moments of déjà vu. Many of the concepts echoed topics I teach in my Asynchronous Server Side Development academic course at HIT, where we cover JavaScript, Node.js, MongoDB, MongoDB Design Patterns, and Express.js.

Innovative Support

One aspect that I couldn’t miss was the availability and openness of MongoDB to address startups’ expectations. That reminded me of my own journey nearly 20 years ago, when I faced challenges building new ventures with far fewer resources. Today, with the rise of AI, tools such as Kiro.dev and services like MongoDB Atlas, my passion for developing and creating new things feels stronger than ever.

Interactive Gaming

The event wasn’t only about talks and workshops. There were fun moments too! Kahoot-based competitions and the Wheel of Luck added energy and excitement. To top it off, I even won a cool MongoDB bottle, which will always remind me of this conference.

Mongo DB Conference

MongoDB Tel Aviv 2025 was a truly memorable experience. The event combined excellent content, great networking opportunities, and delicious food. It was inspiring, fun, and enriching. I am already looking forward to attending MongoDB 2026.

The Visitor Design Pattern

The visitor design pattern allows us to add operations to objects that already exist without modifying their classes and without extending them.

What are Anti Patterns?

Anti Patterns

Unlike design patterns, anti patterns just seem to be a solution. However, they are not a solution and they cause additional costs.
