Experimenting with Kiro IDE and Claude opened an unexpected path into watchOS development. Instead of starting in Xcode, most of the project can be generated and structured externally, enabling rapid experimentation and a surprisingly smooth workflow.
Developing with Kiro IDE
Apple expects developers to develop every watchOS project in Xcode. Kiro and Claude can first generate the project structure, including the Swift code. Afterwards, we can simply open the project in Xcode. I did that to develop a WatchOS version of the Jacado Light game. It worked magnificently.
Bringing Jacado Games Back to Life
Jacado Games originally produced hundreds of mobile games in the early mobile era (25 years ago). Reviving it today feels both nostalgic and exciting. Follow Jacado Games on X for updates.
The journey is only beginning. Jacado Games will continue exploring casual logic games for watches, phones, web, and other platforms. More experiments with AI-assisted development are coming soon. You can try playing Jacado Light. Just browse (on your desktop) my blog at https://lifemichael.com/en/ and press ‘J’. The game will pop up.
